چکیده
This study compared the biomechanical properties of bone-stapling techniques with those other fixation methods used for stabilizing tibial tuberosity fractures using 3-dimensionally (3D)-printed canine bone models. Twenty-eight 3D-printed models made from computed tomography scan files were used. Tibial simulated osteotomy. All samples divided into 4 groups. Group 1 was stabilized a pin and tension-band wire; group 2, an 8 mm-wide staple; 3, 2 horizontally aligned pins 10 staple. Tensile force applied vertical distraction until failure occurred. The load displacement recorded during tests. groups based on required to cause displacements 1, 3 mm. maximum loads modes recorded. at all in greater than 3. mm similar There no significant difference between Groups provided Failure occurred because tearing nylon rope, fracture, wire breakage, bending, fracture around staple insertion. In conclusion, these results demonstrate that technique is acceptable alternative stabilization

Imaging Review of Adolescent Tibial Tuberosity Fractures
Adolescent tibial tuberosity injuries are infrequent fractures usually seen in physically active adolescent males. Powerful contraction of the knee extensors by sudden acceleration or deceleration of the quadriceps muscle can result in avulsion fractures of the tibial tuberosity apophysis. In late puberty, as the growth plate closes, it is transiently replaced by fibrocartilaginous elements. Th...
متن کاملTibial Tuberosity Osteotomy: Indications, Techniques, and Outcomes.
Tibial tuberosity osteotomy (TTO) is a well-described treatment option for a broad range of patellofemoral joint disorders, including patellofemoral instability, patellar and trochlear focal chondral lesions, and patellofemoral arthritis. The purpose of this article is to review the evolution of the TTO procedure, from the original Hauser procedure to the current anteromedialization procedure, ...
متن کاملAdvancement of the tibial tuberosity. A biomechanical study.
The effects of advancement of the tibial tuberosity by inserting bony wedges was studied on cadaveric specimens of the knee. The geometry, the contact areas and the forces acting on the patellofemoral joint were investigated, and the forces acting on the tibiofemoral compartment were calculated. A 1 cm advancement was found to be optimal in reducing the high patellofemoral joint forces occurrin...
متن کاملConservative Management of Tibial Tuberosity Fractures in 15 Horses
Stifle trauma can be a common cause of lameness in the athletic horse. Traumatic fractures of the tibial tuberosity and surgical treatment with internal fixation has been previously reported. However, implant failure and catastrophic fracture of the tibia are inherent risks associated with recovery from general anesthesia following repair. To this author’s knowledge, there is no report in the l...
متن کاملNovel Techniques in Treating Calcaneal Tuberosity Fractures
Calcaneal tuberosity fractures comprise only 1 to 2% of all calcaneal fractures. Treatment of these injuries has traditionally included open reduction and internal fixation with various means including lag screws, suture anchors and K-wires. We report on a series of cases treated with excision of the tuberosity frag ment with repair of the Achilles tendon supplemented by a flexor hallucis longu...
